MBA entrance exams

To pursue an MBA, one has to write an Entrance Exam. India has more

than 50 MBA entrance tests. Some tests are held at national level, some
at regional level and some at institutional level.

CAT (Common Admission Test)
  1. Conducted by IIMs
  2. Eligibility: 50% in Graduation for General and 45% for Reserved.Final year students can also apply.
  3. Exam Pattern: CAT is an online exam.

It has 3 sections –

  • Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension
  • Quantitative Ability and
  • Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning.
  • Total of 100 questions with a time limit of 3 hours.
MAT (Management Aptitude Test)
  1. Conducted by All India Management Association (AIMA).
  2. Eligibility: Any Graduate can apply.
  3. Exam Pattern: Both Computer-based and Paper-based test.
It has 5 sections –
  • Language Comprehension
  • Intelligence and Critical Reasoning
  • Data Analysis and Sufficiency
  • Mathematical Skills and
  • Indian and Global Environment
Totally 200 questions with a time limit of 150 minutes.
 
XAT (Xavier Aptitude Test)
  1. Conducted by Xavier School Of Management.
  2. Eligibility: Candidates with any bachelor degree and Final Yearstudents can also apply.
  3. Exam Pattern: XAT is an online computer based test.

Part-2
  • General Knowledge
Totally the exam consists of 99 questions with the time duration of 3
hours
 
CMAT (Common Management Admission Test)
  1. Conducted by AICTE
  2. Eligibility: 50% in Graduation for General and 45% for Reserved.Final year students can also apply.Exam Pattern: It’s an online computer based test of three hours duration with 5 sections.

TANCET (Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test)
  1. It is conducted by Anna University.
  2. Eligibility: Bachelor’s degree with minimum 50% marks for Generalcategory and 45 % for OBC and 40% for SC/ST students.
  3. Exam Pattern: It is a pen-paper test. The duration of the exam is 120 minutes.
  4. It’s divided in four sections and a total of 100 questions.
